About St. Andrew Catholic Church Preschool
St. Andrew's Mother's Morning Out was established in 1988. Since that time it has grown and developed into a Catholic based program serving the needs of pre-school-age children of the parish and surrounding community. The name was changed to St. Andrew Catholic Church Preschool in 1998. The quality reputation of this program is based on our ability to provide a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment. This objective is achieved through the combined commitment of all staff working together for the common good. Inherent in this commitment is that each staff member will follow the policies and procedures outlined, maintain an attitude of confidentiality with respect to staff, children and their families and support all staff as needed to guarantee a positive working environment,
Basic program goals have been developed to promote the emotional, social, spiritual, cognitive and physical development of each child. The goals for St. Andrew's Preschool have been developed based on the philosophy that each child is a unique individual with a variety of interests, needs and abilities. Through daily activities each child should learn of his/her self worth while learning the importance of others and respecting their rights. Emphasis is to be placed on providing a warm and nurturing environment while giving the emotional support and encouragement that all individuals need to learn and to grow to their fullest potential.
• To provide a nurturing, flexible and calm atmosphere where self-concept is enhanced, independence is encouraged and expectations are made clear.
• To provide an atmosphere where the foundation of respect for others is established, along with respect for the equipment and materials.
• To foster security with adults who are not members of the family.
• To encourage neatness in putting away things when the children are done using them.

The Preschool curriculum is based on a building block theory. Goals and objectives are to be developmentally appropriate for the age level of each class beginning with the one year olds - the primary goal being to provide a safe, nurturing environment. Each age level is to then build upon that, including and expanding upon the above mentioned goals and objectives as appropriate, for each stage of development. The curriculum is reviewed and revised as necessary by the Lead Teacher. It is reviewed and evaluated regularly by the Director.
